bringing lipstick back

finally, music artist are inspiring makeup artist again. this is great news for makeup artist. music artist influence so many people. because of their mighty power women will once again try new makeup and hair trends without us (makeup artist and hair dresser) getting battles scars. i truly believe that there was only one make up and hairstylist working on all the artist for the pass few years. thank god they are taking a much needed vacation. the look for rand b female artist was cashmere, gold, plum-brown eye shadow and gloss only (beyonce). the look for pop artist was beige or pink eyeshadow with an olive brown eyeshadow in the crease and pink lip gloss (britney spears). every now in then we would get teased with a smokey eye.
Now enter nicki minaj featuring 1950's meets the jetson's meet super-heroe. easter lilly powdery white eye shadow, layer with passion fuchsia eyeshadow, liquid liner, and electrifying lipstick lip gloss combinations. and did i mention a wig in the same color to finish the look. paying homage to grace jones, the mother make up muse.

try makeup forever rouge intense lipstick in pearly fuchsia to get a nicki minaj inspired lip.

face yourself, really.

2 face yourself: new year, new you. i am starting all over again. new city, new job, new found passion for myself and truly ready 2 FACE MYSELF. face yourself by tori is my cosmetic line that i started last year. the name 2 face yourself came to me from spirit. i have always had a hard time facing myself. surely i am not the only one. i label myself as an esthetician, makeup artist, motivational speaker, and one that is obsessed with the beauty industry. i always have an opportunity to share encouragement with my clients when they are in my makeup chair. this is combining my spiritual beliefs with beauty like a makeup sage. going forward this blog will cover spiritual and beauty topics.
go to the mirror today and look at yourself . please, don't start seeing the negative. introduce yourself to yourself. say, "hello," ,nice to meet you. " you are one of a kind and i will grow to love you and honor the good in you." - a new start.
this bitter cold winter calls for increased exfoliation and extra tender love and hydration. everyone should exfoliate at least once a week. if you are oily twice a week, not everyday. exfoliation allows the dead skin cells to fall off so the moisturizer can actual reach the skin. when you don't exfoliate you get a build up of dead skin that forms a protective like barrier around your skin that does not allow your moisturizer to reach it. considered using a serum or hydrating gel underneath your moisturizer or a moisturizing mask once a week.
TIP: TAKE A HALF PINCH OF BAKING SODA AND MIX IT WITH YOUR FACIAL CLEANSER AND MASSAGE IT INTO YOUR SKIN. THUS YOU HAVE CREATED YOUR OWN EXFOLIANT.
